Better than Buffalo Exchange for the range of designers and prices. Shopping is a better experience than selling here. Don't expect to make much if you don't have designer items. While it's humbling to receive only 10 cents for basic clothing pieces, it's a thrill to find $5 brand-new Jcrew jeans and $15 cashmere sweaters!

I wandered into this shop, not quite sure what to expect. What I found was a really wonderfully curated selection of secondhand clothes, shoes, and accessories at all price points. If it wasn't such a cold day, I'd definitely spend some time combing the racks and trying things on (but getting dressed back in my winter clothes feels like a workout!).

Fast and thoughtful service by Brian/Bryan!

I made an online order on the 2nd street online shop and the bag I wanted was at the LES store. (I don’t live in NYC) However, the next day I was notified that the bag was no longer in store and I was refunded. (This is quite common/expected because online shop isn’t automatically updated and people shop A LOT in person at 2nd streets so you never know). But I called to inquire if I could get a replacement with a different bag instead of a refund, but Bryan went looking for and actually found/shipped the bag I originally wanted. Really did not expect the attention to detail because I was out of state, but glad I called!

I use to go to the 2nd Street all the time when I was in Asia so was surprised there were branches here too. Growing up in NYC checking your bag at the door is not uncommon so had no issues handing over my backpack. The selection was good but seemed strange to have thousand $ pieces right across from Old Navy used jeans. Didn't see many bargains but was fun browsing !

If you’ve been in one of these stores to buy or sell, and felt like you were being scammed, you would be correct. As someone who works in the fashion industry, knows the resale market well and has dealt with two of their locations, let me break down how these people make money by scamming you: If you’re buying, they use a security guard at entrance to intimidate, to make you believe you’re in a high end boutique. In reality, much of their inventory is dirty, worn etc while still having a super high price tag. ….which is funny, cause if you’re selling they will tell you they need to price things reasonably (lies) which is why they can only offer you pennies for your brand new high-designer current style item never worn with tags still on it. The truth is they will be making a huge profit off your lovely item, while sending you away with next to nothing like a dummy. (And this is for brand new tagged items. I can’t even imagine what they would offer for used items!) Here’s the best part: when you call them out and tell them that what they’re offering is straight theft, they turn the tables and gaslight you and accuse you of wtv comes to their head. (Of course they do) This place is amateur messy scamville. Do not bother! Go to an actual reputable business like The Real Real, Grailed, Fashionphile etc.

I am legitimately making this review in front of the store as I just left because the young guy named Patrick at reception was extremely disrespectful and lackluster towards me. I called prior to and mentioned it will be my first time and no one mentioned to me how the process works. I came in person and dude handling my clothes looked like he didn’t even want to bother with me, his attitude is nasty, and he never acknowledged me. He just took my items, and said it’ll take 45 minutes for me to get appraised. I mentioned this is my first time here and he looked pained to explain how the process works. Legit ignored me when I asked a questioned, and then I had to assertively demand action to my request. I just don’t like doing business where I don’t feel valued or treated with common courtesy or respect. I asked for my items back after some thought. He is probably having a bad day so I’m not taking it personal but it did upset me. My face is hot. I told the security guard, an employee, and the manager about this. It seemed the security guard and employee cared more than the manager which is likely why Patrick is like that. They look alike so they’re probably related. That kid doesn’t need a customer facing job if he is going to be acting like that. He needs to work at a library or BOH restaurant where he doesn’t need to interact with people much.
