A short drive from Edmonton. I've come here throughout the year except in Winter. I'm not much of a highway driver when there's snow on the ground. The park changes with the seasons and it is glorious. In the Summer, bring a picnic lunch and have it on the beach. This is one of the few places in the province where you can actually find a working pay phone. Too cute for words.

went for two nights . it was a good camping site. Loop A is bit crowded though. Neat and clean shower room and pit toilets . Nice playground . Good for biking and hiking . The lake looks beautiful but isnt good for anything else .. too salty and stinky with lot of bird carcasses on the beach trail.

Very nice place for camping. The walking trail was wide, lots of spacious campsites and washrooms were accessible. We would like to go back.

I had an incredible experience comfort camping in a yurt! The yurt provided the perfect blend of comfort and connection to nature, allowing me to enjoy a cozy and unique setting. The highlight of my stay was witnessing the breathtaking Northern Lights dancing across the sky. It was truly magical to watch the auroras from the warmth of the yurt, creating an unforgettable and awe-inspiring moment.

If you have been here in the past 25 years, you will be shocked at how far from what used to be the shore that the lake has receded. It is still a beautiful location, though with a beach, 200 species of birds, short trails and longer back country hiking, An awesome playground and fields for sporti g activities, day use spots with stoves, grouo areas and a ton of overnight camping with all of the amenities. I was so impressed with how well the park was maintained. There is also informative signage on how the habitat is changing. If you're lucky you'll see some of the 2 species of garter snakes.

Quiet campground, with reasonably sized sites and good tree coverage. Lots of play areas for kids. There are nice trails and the surrounding ponds are a great spot for seeing birds. Pit toilets were abysmal, but the shower house was decent. We found a solitary and probably haunted outhouse, plus potentially the last functional pay phone in Alberta. The lake was not a nice place to be - lots of smelly mud, a ton of bugs, and dead birds. Gross. Skip that and enjoy the birds and beavers in the smaller ponds.

Great camp site close to the city. Very nice for all season camping. Lots of powered sites for trailers and rvs.
