I patronize this place a lot and sometimes I find good stuff. Each trip has at least one item that I have to fix, like holes or tears. I take good care of my clothes. When I want to donate some, and mind you that 85% of clothes that I try to donate, they refuse it. I mean EVERY DAMN TIME! Why? Because we're not 18? We’re in our 50’s, and yea, patting myself on the back, we look great! I refuse to dress old! Absolutely nothing that I have looks
Like my grandparent's clothes! Always a different reason too! And I know that the workers get first dibs on anything that comes in. They leave the rest to rummage through! How about firing the KIDS and have ADULTS
work there! Kids are rude, irresponsible and ignorant! I hate how these know it all kids handle the store! I guess I will just go to the one that I always went to. At least they have nicer and more things! If I could I'd rate this store a zero!

Miranda and Katie were awesome! Such a pleasant experience, they accepted a ton of men’s clothes I dropped off. My clothes were ready in time to pick up and the customer service was amazing!

0/10 do not recommend. For the past year of trying to sell different items with them I’ve been told we have to do an “All pass” half of my items still have tags on them and most of them were still folded the way I dropped them off which clearly shows they didn’t go through the items at all. My wait time was an hour and 20 minutes for absolutely nothing. Employees are rude and lazy. If the funding is low please don’t advertise the fact you can sell unwanted items. People don’t waste your time here.

I’ve been going here for about a year and while some of their clothes are cute, they do have a very large selection of Shein and older styles/very low quality items. I’ve been to numerous Plato’s closet’s in different states and this is by far the worst. There have been multiple time’s where I’ve called ahead to see if the buy counter is open and I leave immediately, however when I get there in 15 minutes it’s closed. I have brought in multiple bags of BNWT items from name brands such as PacSun, Lululemon, etc. with no issues and yet they would tell me it is out of style. I understand they need to keep up with “trends” but I also do not understand how my brand new in-style items are “out of style” and yet their racks have a large amount of Shein, Cider, and other low quality items—I assume the employee’s pick what’s their style to buy rather than what’s popular. I have also brought in items I have bought from here abour 3-4 weeks after purchasing and tried to resell them and also got told they were “out of date”…this confuses me since I bought it off of their racks. I’ve read the comments and it seems like people have been having these issue’s as well but yet this location has sadly not really done anything to fix it. I really hope they try to work on it, I highly recommend the Charleston location over this one.

Employees are kinda rude. when I walked in the store I said hello and the girl working there just stared at me and I said it again and she said hi in a rude tone. I don’t know, they just weren’t very welcoming and none of them seem happy at all. everyone has bad days but sometimes you have to put on a face and treat your customers with a little kindness at least.

The store and its selection is cute, but I thought Plato's entire motto was to only sell items in near-new quality. That said, I didn't highly inspect my items before purchasing. My fault, I know. Upon bringing the dress I paid $20 for into my house, I noticed several holes and a large stain. Upon reading the comments, they don't even take some NWT items, so why did they take this in? At least mark "as is".

I lived in North Carolina for most of my life & the platos up there was great. This one is about 50/50. Half of the time I’m there I am met with rude employees. On top of that a few weeks ago I was told by the owner to bring in 3 baskets of men’s clothes and shoes I had because they desperately needed them. Well apparently they weren’t that desperate. The first day I was told I couldn’t sell because they can only take one basket a day + they had closed the sale table for the day. Fine, so I came back a few days later w a large basket full of men’s clothes and shoes. They went through the stuff- more than HALF of the clothes had the tags still on them. A lot of these clothes are expensive brands and these clothes were brand new. They had sat in my boyfriend’s closet for about a year and he never wore them so I decided it was time to get rid of them. They took all 3 pairs of shoes, a few clothes and paid me $45. I just went through all the clothes they didn’t take & was confused.
This isn’t a bad place to shop and you can usually find something nice there, but I was disappointed that I was told they NEED men’s clothes badly and then when I offer them nice new mens clothes, they don’t take them. Attached is images of a few items they didn’t take.

don’t waste your time here! they have the ugliest clothes on display and somehow don’t accept any clothes! some of the clothes i tried to sell have tags and have never been worn, yet couldn’t be accepted. you are better off donating and making cash a different way! will never be back. trust all of the 1 star yelp reviews!
