Volunteering at Second Harvest is always a joy! The entire staff is welcoming to all of us and make us feel that we are an important piece of this great organization. What a special place in the Sharpsburg community that has become a huge attraction to the entire region!

Friendly staff! Bright, and clean! Great store layout (and arranged by sizes NOT COLOR!!). Great furniture & rugs. Tons of books!

Bright community space with clean, ADA bathroom!

Just awesome finds at fair prices, and it’s a non-profit that benefits the community! What more can you ask for in a thrift shop?!

The store looks exactly like the pictures, the is really well organized, BUT I personally hate it whenever second hand clothing stores don’t have fitting rooms. They have a restroom, a big office in the back and a spacious workroom so I feel like they could definitely have one. Tbh I wouldn’t have made the trip had I known this. If you don’t mind this detail, could be a good shopping experience.

The first day I arrived and purchased a table, I was greeted and helped by 2 nice ladies! However, I had to come back the next day with my husband to help me get the table.
The lady I spoke to said that was fine and they close at 5 so just to be there before 5, 4:30 if we could.

We were not able to make it by then due to work and pulled in at 4:56. A woman, who I did not meet the day before as we walked to the door said “we’re closed.” I said it’s 4:56…and she rudely replied “yeah we close at 5.” I said I was there to pick up a table and that was it. So she said fine and then told the nice woman who helped me the day before rudely that she needs to tell people to pick up by 4:30 and she’s the reason I’m coming in this late. It took my husband and I 30 seconds to grab the table and walk out of the store. All before they CLOSED at 5. I was so excited to make this a regular thrift stop for myself but now feel uneasy.

Second Harvest is unlike any other thrift shop / second hand store that I’ve ever visited. Well lit, spacious, doesn’t have that musty old smell so many others have and the displays are creative and so visually appealing. Some odd-ball things, which adds to the fun and interest, but 95% great finds and deals on furniture and clothing. The staff and volunteers are helpful and friendly and that the store funnels all funds back into the community is such a worthy and unique concept. Allow yourself plenty of time to hunt through all the different areas and bring a reusable bag for any purchases. I highly recommend Second Harvest to thrifters and anyone trying to save some money as well as help the planet

Second Harvest has long been one of my favorite thrift stores in Pittsburgh. During a recent visit, I was disappointed to see that they have raised their prices. Most shirts were $10 despite having stains and other imperfections. I don't go thrifting to spend $35 on a pair of shoes. In the future, I will go to stores that are more reasonably priced.

Easily the best thrift store I’ve ever been to. Amazing prices but a boutique feel. Lots of quality items. The employees made me feel welcome and were helpful. So glad I stopped by.
