Prices are decent if you are able to find anything of quality.
My true experience is 3 star due to overall staff competency in communication with each other, however I do understand that this is a 'charitable organization' who may perhaps make some 'charitable hires'. The young woman I was dealing with at the front seemed fully competent when speaking and dealing with most customers, but when I asked for the items I had set aside with the other (seemingly fully competent) young lady and presented to the young woman a coupon, she had difficulty doing either of these tasks properly (she had begun the process of putting my reserved items back in inventory, and only gave me 10% off with my 30% coupon).
Now, it very much seemed to me that this person was a manager or shift lead of some kind, at the very least someone running the till terminal quickly and proficiently! If this is the case, consider this to be a 2 star ⭐⭐ review because I'm a bit dissatisfied with how things were done today.
However, however, if this is someone, who spontaneously becomes careless doing general work tasks in the early afternoon seemingly only with me because of their 'charitable' nature, then I do apologize and this review will remain a 3 due to the few decent items I picked up today.
Otherwise I urge the staff to communicate and wear their radios when they are supposed to and pay attention to the percentage on the coupon.
Thank you

Edit: I believe Bissell Thrift Shop has done more than enough to redeem themselves so I return 5 star rating and keep my former review below.

Former review:
I had a positive review before regarding affordable prices and generally decent shopping experience but now I have to edit it to reflect certain issues.

I was shopping today at the store. Brought a whole bag of clothing to donate and was greeted by the donations room employee, a tall man with a beard. Now, around 16:40 the store staff announced the store is closing in 15 minutes. I would like to remind that both the store sign and Google Maps page state the store closes at 5 pm. However, the same tall man with a beard started rudely shooing customers from the back part of the store stating the store is closing (mind you, it was around 16:50 at most). At the same time three BMX bicycles were piled up inside the shop by the entrance for quite a while, partially blocking the entrance, nobody said anything to the bicycle owners all that time. If this is how you treat the donating people and those who impede the customers then it's despicable.

If your store is trying to help the community then maybe you should be a bit more respectful to the community members trying to help you. Also, I don't think you should relegate the responsibility for store closing routine on your customers - either adjust the opening hours or be ready to help and a bit more respectful.

I will also talk to your manager about this experience.

Went in to find some plus size clothes. I found what I was looking for at a wonderful price.

A decent, small thrift store with fair pricing. I always manage to find a cute knick knack for the house or garden. Clothes selection is hit and miss. Lots of books. They give you a 10% off coupon when you drop off donations, and have a customer loyalty/points system as well.

I completely understand why they don’t have change rooms here anymore. However, if they don’t allow people to try on clothes, they should accept returns, or at the very least exchanges. But no. Everything is final sale. This policy really discourages me from wanting to shop here for clothes.

Waste of time. Nothing but junk. Treasure hunters stay away. This thrift store takes anything good or vintage and hides it in the back and then sells it online. I wrote this same review years ago and my review and all the other bad reviews have disappeared. Very strange that a store that's been open many, many years only has 15 reviews. Very shady.

I like going to Bissell Thrift Shop because I never know what interesting treasure I might come across. I don't always find something but I always enjoy the experience. There is an adjacent parking lot; it isn't very big but it's always been sufficient when I have visited.
This is also my favourite thrift store in Edmonton, primarily because the money stays right here and directly benefits those who experience poverty in our city.
