I know theft is really tough for many businesses and though I appreciate having security to protect what I do not think is effective is having rude cold employees that do not greet or speak to your customers and then follow them around as they shop. This was actually my first time in the store and it’s laid out beautifully so well organized and really beautiful. Then I started to notice there are no mirrors…anywhere. The employees stand and stare at the shoppers not saying hello or even breaking a smile: when I asked to try on a large bright pink wool cape I was told I needed to put my clear see through wallet size purse that is only big enough to hold my phone and house keys in a locker in order to try it on. No bag policy which includes purses and wallets. I also don’t feel
They are size inclusive and the prices are very interesting for what they offer. This is the strangest and worst shopping experience I have had and not just in nyc but in life. Sadly they donate to charity and I would have loved to support but service is so important. I know it’s October but I think this spooky service happens all year round. Not a fan. Will not be back. 0:10 do not recommend.

I tried on the most marvelous, luxurious silken tunic while I was here. The staff made me feel like I was a proper legend. I will be back. And I will be back again after that. And again after that. Multiply this by many exponents and you’ll get a sense for how excited I am to reemerge at this store. Better than all this, their mission is one that speaks to my soul. “Retail therapy” has never felt so philanthropic to me before. Get here now!

Curated, cool, ripoff. I saw a vintage dank’s wooden bowl there priced for $800! I was certain I’d seen a similar one recently for less than $100. Googled it and sure enough, you can get it on poshmark for $65. Who sells a $65 bowl for $800? Are they high? Everyone has Google and can cross check their prices. I’m baffled. That being said, a few super high end pieces were great and priced correctly, like a brutalist Richard Barr lamp (missing its pair) for $1500

Such a good experience at Cure Thrift. The staff was friendly and helpful with picking out a new vintage coat for me for the Winter. Was also reasonably priced considering the quality and brands they carry. Definitely check this place out!

Great variety of pins, clothing, furniture, and various decorations. This is a high-end boutique with high quality items, so many items are $100+ which is fine considering the quality of the art. They're a donation-based nonprofit unlike some for-profit thrift stores.

Not a thrift shop. Very high prices. I mean VERY high. Also, half the cool stuff in there was not for sale. I saw some dolls on a top shelf, pulled them down, looked at the price tag. One of their "sentries" came up and told me "Sorry, those aren't for sale — they're just for display." I pointed out the price tag, and he said "Oh okay." I guess he's so used to telling folks that things aren't for sale that he got confused.

The shop owner's responses to some of these reviews shows everything you need to know. Shops don't get ratings this low, this often, on accident.

Absolutely a treasure trove of a gem in the East Village, a must on any thrift store list !!
Recently, I moved into the neighborhood and stumbled upon this shop while on a walk; the windows spoke to me, so I proceeded in and was delighted to find the most incredible array of curated objects I've seen in ages: from mid-century furniture to vintage graphic tees, this place has it all. I am thrilled to have discovered this gem as I am currently outfitting my new apartment, and their furniture selection is next level--as is their customer service team. I was approached by this doll of a human, May, and she walked me through the store, showing me everything they currently had; we landed on a dresser that I do hope fit the space I have, and if it does, I'll be back to purchase. The best part of my time in the store and chatting with May and learning of the incredible work this business does for charity--bravo!

Beautiful selection that they have curated here! Antiques and clothes to thrift. Home goods and roller blades and charms. I will say the items were very nice but did seem to be priced pretty high and I personally wasn’t really willing to pay for anything that I wasn’t amazed with here. That being said, there were definitely unique and amazing pieces still.
