I went Friday evening and didn’t realize I would need a check or money order for my registration, so I went home and got it then came back. Unfortunately, it was almost time for close, but the man kindly told me to come back as early as possible Saturday. When I came back, I had a short wait (maybe 20-30 minutes) until I got to the counter. Diana (maybe Diane?) helped me out. She was extremely efficient, calming, and kind. Since it was my first time buying a car, she explained everything to me and made sure I had all of the documents I needed. She answered all of my questions and smiled at me warmly. While it’s still a DMV, it’s the best DMV I’ve been to. My only criticism is that the website doesn’t easily provide what you’ll need to bring in, but that’s not specific to this DMV.

I will never go here again for the rest of my life. This is the second time I have been there and because I do not know English very well. I was treated like a second class citizen. If you do not know English very well, I do not recommend you to go.

Cashier is perhaps the most rude person I've ever met. Basically yelled at me for trying to ask if I was at the correct desk when there was no visible sign. No reason to speak to another human like that for trying to nicely ask a quick question. What a head case.

The DMV in Freeport is so much cleaner, organized, and the staff is attentive and very helpful and won’t treat you bad. I know it’s a further drive, but you are literally in and out in about 30 min or less. Also, the DMV has hearing officers on certain days in Freeport so call ahead of time to ask which days they have hearing officers. I haven’t stepped foot at the Rockford DMV bc of how rude staff can be.

Fix your Google listing hours. Arrived within 10 min of closing and was turned away. Customer service sucks and we pay too high of taxes for terrible hours for people that have to work multiple jobs to afford anything anymore.
