i used to come here and haven’t been back in a while but decided to check it out again today - the prices on some of these clothes just don’t make it worth coming back here to me. like… why is this jacket $100!! or even 40 pants are around the $20 mark, i could get them nicer and even cheaper if i bought secondhand online. i get a little mark up for some nicer items, sure, but this has priced me out of a thrift store.

Just recently started going here and prices are good. Gotta really check things though because some stuff is broken/unusable. The main reason for not giving a higher rating is the employees. A couple are hospitable and have good customer service, others are not. Specifically the older woman at the register (but she seems to have some sort of mental disability I think?) and a guy shelving things were rude. The lady at the jewelry section seemed nice though.

Just like the old school thrift stores, not over priced, and a little bit of everything. Go here instead of goodwill

Edited to add: a lot of reviewers are saying it’s over priced compared to before, but I think it’s reasonably priced compared to thrift stores in the present moment. I got a $4.95 tee shirt that would have been $10+ elsewhere or more for “brand name”. I suppose YMMV

i never leave reviews but i literally gasped last time i saw the prices at fantastic thrift. i’ve shopped here for years and the inflation is INSANE. they shouldn’t be able to call themselves a thrift store. $99 for a pair of pants? excuse me it’s hard to find anything under $15-20 (that should be $2-5) now and the amount of $50-$100 clothing i saw is absolutely bonkers. don’t donate here!

I work in the Fan and used to shop this "thrift store" every day. Well, it used to be a thrift store. I decided about 2 months ago, I would no longer give them my business. The prices are absolutely insane and the owner and upper management should honestly be ashamed of themselves. The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1, is because of the employees, I love them and they are all so nice. However as a business, they should not be marking items up to boutique prices, especially when everything is donated! Just an example, I've seen Madewell jeans in there for around 35.00, that's what they go for on Ebay! People go to thrift stores to get a deal, not to pay boutique or Ebay prices. It's sad when Uptown Cheapskate, which is a chain boutique used clothing store, has way cheaper prices than a THRIFT store. Fantastic Thrift must literally have someone just to look up prices on the internet of incoming items all day long. It's ridiculous, do better for you customers and community and stop with the greediness!

I used to shop here for clothes , however now their prices have risen so much they are actually even more expensive than Buffalo Exchange in some garments … how can a place that gets the clothes for free charge more than a business that pays for the used clothes …. I hope they have raised their employees pay at the same rate they have risen the prices of their clothes …

Their prices are so bad now, if you find an item you like your best bet is to look it up online to find it CHEAPER. Honestly not sure why anyone donates anything to them anymore.

I’ve been a frequent shopper here for 10+ years. It used to be great! Really affordable - even 99 cent sections of clothing. The cost of clothing and shoes was steadily increasing (the hard goods have stayed pretty fairly priced!) until sometime in the past year there was a sharp increase. Today I hit my breaking point. Every dress I saw that I liked was $35. A sweater? $75. Shoes? $50. This is ABSURD for a thrift store getting their inventory for free. And especially for a thrift store with no fitting rooms, no mirrors, no returns, and some items that are ruined by the way they mark their prices (stapled onto delicate silk, written in red ink on the side of leather shoes).

Why would I pay $35 for a used Loft dress here when I could go buy one new at the mall for the same price (or less) while also having a better shopping experience?

But also - there are thrift stories within a mile radius that are so much better. Diversity Thrift is much cheaper and does $1 clothing days each week. Carytown Thrift is much cheaper and does $5 fill-a-bags often. Even The Clothes Rack - with much nicer clothing than Fantastic - marks things a lot more reasonably (and does 75% off and $1 sales).

I can’t imagine that this pricing is sustainable. Today I saw items here that were here many months ago - at the same inflated price they were then. I hope they realize this isn’t working for them and they are losing customers. I would love for them to re-strategize!!
