Mr. k's is a great store to go looking for any kind of books. They have music CDs and DVDs as well. They have used and new books at great prices. I have been going here for years and never disappointed. Customer service is great and very nice.

I feel guilty leaving a bad review because I think this is a pretty cool store that is absolutely ruined by the insufferable music being played, at a volume I find personally unacceptable, every time I have gone. I still shop here over the larger chains in town, but I have forgotten noise cancelling earbuds and simply left the store upon realizing it. If it really has to be a combination of pirate shanties, Disney soundtracks, songs from musicals, and electro-swing (a genre equivalent of the phrase "I'm so random"), at least turn it down, preferably to zero.

It would be a big improvement to have a station somewhere to check inventory without having to talk to staff. Considering the unknowable selection, I sometimes have a number of books or authors in mind, and despite the organization being good, it is still time consuming to search for each of them.

I do still shop here despite the complaining. The mass market paperbacks are extremely cheap, and if you're looking for a reasonably mainstream author they probably have something.

The whole family loves this bookstore! Always an adventure as to what you will find and we are never disappointed. Sometimes used bookstores are a bit shabby or disheveled, but Mr K's is always neat and inviting. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Can't go wrong with a visit to this store!

I recently went to purchase a vinyl record from Mr. K’s when a male employee behind another register chimed in to say that the soundtrack on the vinyl was “the most boring thing I’ve ever listened to in my life”. It caught me off guard and then the other cashier said nothing to me. This place is a dump and they are scamming you especially for books. The customer service is terrible and the employees act like they don’t want to be there, and they will actively talk down on your purchases. Whoever is in charge needs to know I’ve purchased about 50 movies from them in the past five years and I will not be returning. Imagine you’re at the grocery store buying chicken and an employee comes up to you and says, “ew chicken makes me gag” why would they do that if not to put you down for your own preferences? Use eBay instead

A ton of book, two levels of books, movies, music/cds. Very reasonable on prices as well. They will buy the books or any used books back as long as they do not have a ton of the same book already on the shelf.

Mr. K’s is a family favorite. I love to find books about art - drawing and painting references are my favorite. My kids love to find new books, and the prices are unbeatable. We ALWAYS find something when we go, without exception. This is a Johnson City must-do for book fans.
