As a loyal customer of Rave Reviews for over 17 years, I am disappointed and despondent in regards to the way I was treated after I chose to consign with this company. The first 15 years I shopped regularly and purchased many clothing items. In the spring of 2022, I decided to sign up as a consignee. I paid the $20.00 fee and followed the protocols of dropping off my clothes to sell. I continued to shop as a customer as well. Additionally, if I received a compliment on my outfit at work or with friends, etc. I always “raved” about Rave Reviews and recommended they shop there.
While shopping, I enjoyed the ladies that worked there and always appreciated their assistance if needed. We would laugh and I always felt welcome. The owner had a different approach when it came to her customers. Her greetings over the years were half-hearted and made me feel like she just wanted me to buy something for the mere sake of her making a sell. I must mention her comments were made consistently from behind the desk. Seldomly, did the owner ever stop and come out to the floor to assist me or other customers. If you are a customer, I feel confident you experienced the same. Alternatively, the friendly staff were approachable and offered me assistance.
I am deeply concerned at the way the owner conducted herself in reference to a phone call made to me and the voicemail that she left on my phone. I have saved the voicemail. In a nutshell, in June of this year, she demanded that I come pick up all of my items. Shocked, I phoned back to inquire of her request. She made false accusations that I made a comment to one of her staff. I knew I had not made any comments of this nature. Since I was upset, I went to the store the very next day and the same 3 ladies that I had always interacted with were there. I told them about my phone call and apologized if I said anything to hurt them. All 3 of the ladies reassured me that they did not remember anything of this sort and enjoyed having me as a customer. I felt much better when I left.
Additionally, during our phone call, the owner claimed that my items were not selling. I reminded her that I had just dropped off clothes the week before, and I did not feel the clothes had ample time on the floor. She went on with another excuse. I told her that I worked and I would have to arrange my schedule and asked if I could get back to her. She immediately claimed that if I didn’t pick up my clothes within 3 business days, then she would donate them. Moreover, I asked if
Her retail shop was a member of The Mobile Chamber of Commerce. She indignantly replied that in fact “yes” she was a member. I telephoned the Mobile Chamber of Commerce to verify this information and the Chamber informed me they had no record of her Membership. Apparently, the records indicated she had never previously been a member. I am wondering if I should call the Better Business Bureau to report this consignment shop.
After this terrible phone call, I checked my contract. There was written language that was deviated from and someone wrote in a false date on my contract right below my name. See attached photo that says the year 2000. Clearly, she did not follow her own rules and protocols in her business contract. Nevertheless, I came to pick up my items. When I got there, I was only given half of my stuff and a print out of the details of items sold. I had to phone back the store and explain that I did not receive all of my clothes. The owner then told me I had to come within a certain range of hours. When I got there, fortunately, there were other customers in the store. Hence, this was in my favor. Therefore, the owner made an apology and did not even thank me for making a second trip. I am thankful there were other customers in the store at the time of my visit. Sadly, I will be unable to patronize this second-hand retail shop from this day forward. Perhaps, if the owner sells the business, I may reconsider my decision.

I got my dress there yesterday. The ladies who work there are very nice and helpful. I told them what kind of dress I could wear and they helped me pick out 3 and I only tried on 1 and I said yes to the first dress. Thank you ladies for all your help. Since I am round up and short tall it is sometimes hard to find things that fit me. I really appreciated the time ya'll took to help me.

Beautiful dresses, great prices, the most outstandingly helpful staff! Not only did they point me in the direction of what I was looking for, they helped me get into corset gowns, and even entertained my babies giving me time to find the perfect dress! I will recommend Rave Reviews to everyone!

First time shopper and definitely won't be the last time! All the ladies are super nice and helpful and they have a great selection of dresses as well as casual clothing and jewelry! They have a plenty to choose from and even do layaway on gowns! I found a beautiful dress and it was actually 40% off! I got a $150 dress for $80 and I will definitely be getting all of my ball gowns from here from now on!

This store is amazing! I can't recommend it enough to women looking for Mardi Gras or other formal gowns. They have an amazing selection of dresses in all sizes. I was frustrated after shopping locally and not finding anything over a size 10! The ladies that work there make you feel comfortable. I where a size 18 and thrilled to see my size on the racks with a great selection. I wish I would have started here sooner. They have racks for less than $80 and then a higher price rack. I was out the door with a brand new dress and full jewelry for $175. Can't beat the price and selection.

I enjoyed shopping there, I really just ran in unexpectedly and wasn't really going dress shopping that day, as I had just come from the gym and probably stank. The ladies were nice and helpful and helps me make a great decision based on my body size and shape. The price was wonderful. I will go back. I love the fact that I can take all of my formals and put on consignment. A very financially feasible option for ladies who like variety.
