Salvation Army Thrift Store - Sebring, Florida

My heart pains me to see this specific Salvation Army has went under new management and has hiked up the prices on donated goods. I thought Salvation Army was about giving to communities that have very little. The communities who can't walk in places like Target and Marshall's because they simply cannot afford it.

This is taking advantage of people by taking donated goods and making a profit for fun. This is a small town place in Florida and I am coming from the NYC. I am visiting for a couple of months and this use to be a place to go. I love the employees but I don't know about this new manager with adjusting prices that were already priced.

I am very saddened about this for our community now can't even afford to go to Salvation army to be their Salvation from Corporate America.

You can clearly see in my photos they forgot to remove the old prices from when the original owner purchased it. WHICH is cheaper then the advertised prices in this Salvation Army. Again everything is donated Salvation Army pays for none of it.

Guessing it's a place to go to right after the most recent donations were made if you wanted to pick something up that you might be exciting to get at a great price. But, if you are just looking for everyday needs the prices aren't bad.

I've noticed the prices have increased quite a bit this past month. I suspect it has to do with the snowbirds being in town. Either that or the person who is pricing the items thinks they're working in a boutique instead of the salvation army

Don't ask for help? I heard them rudely say because they. Gave us 2 bags of food. I thought I could get anything I want free. No! i was trying to help my family. My daughter and I buy lots from them. But from now on we will go some where else.

I want to give more stars because I really did like the items inside of the store and the prices were excellent! BUT the two ladies who were working inside were just so uninviting and RUDE. I know they probably have some difficult customers at times but it was a first time visit for my Mom and I. It was a terrible first impression. She can barely get out because of a recent survey but we LOVE thrift stores, I saw the store and wanted to check it out...I was hoping to support a better organization that Goodwill. I was uncomfortable the whole time due to bossy comments the associates were making to me and at one point even listening in on a conversation I was having with my mom about my panic attack disorder and she told me to suck it up! Mom and I did purchase some items that totaled to almost 9 dollars. We gave the cashier a 20 dollar bill and she asked if we had smaller bills. We told her that was our smallest bill and she grunted and shook her head during the transaction as if we really inconvenienced her. The whole experience was just really uncomfortable and even though I liked the store itself and the organization, I will not be back to the Sebring store.
