It had been a few years since I’ve been here because I recall it being pricey, but decided to check it out this weekend.

The ladies in this store are very nice but the prices are atrocious. The store is so full that it’s hard to walk around and see everything. There is no air condition and no prices. I found several items I was interested in but the prices were higher than you’d find online or other thrift shops in the area. It’s a shame because I’d love to support their mission. For example, a hanging wall picture that would be $6.99 at Goodwill (already pricier than other thrifts) was quoted as $25 here. A small broken milk glass lamp for $25, when the part holding the bulb was crooked and the milk glass shade was missing.

They have cool things, but it's so packed full of stuff you can hardly look through it. Nothing is priced, so you have to ask the lady in charge for prices, and she overprices things way too much. Merchandise would move much quicker if she dropped prices. She wanted to charge me $15 for a used pair of shoes. ?

TERRIBLE!! Went there and it seemed cool, everything disorganized and it’s hot but it seemed like they had some interesting stuff, nothing priced though….. just needed some sheets (looking for extras to have around) not super picky. Asked where they were and choose some out, lady who works there in back said they were $2-3 each, got to register and last charged us $6 each!!! Insane, needed the sheets so I bought them but it’s ridiculous. If you’re not going to have listed prices at least have your workers know the prices! Seems suspicious, maybe just charging however much they want…. Disappointed that something for a good cause had such bad service.

Great items and so much potential for this place but it is an absolute mess. They want antique store prices and you really have to dig around and sweat to find anything. If they would just sell at lower prices and have higher turnover, the whole shopping experience would be better and they would make so much more money to actually help the children! I’ve dropped in every so often for about 8 years and i’ve seen so many items that have been there the entire time. So disappointing that so many cool items are rotting away in this place :/

It does have some neat things & if you're willing to pay high prices, this is the store for you. The items would move more quickly if they were decently priced. Posted prices would eliminate most time spent rummaging through things & having to ask about each item.

This thrift store used to be the only true thrift store in BCS that I could find until about a year ago when they suddenly started trying to get as much money as possible from you. Now they’re nearly as bad as goodwill.
This is an awesome place to treasure hunt and just enjoy thrifting, but they have robbed the joy of it by asking too much.
Ship Shop owner, if you want your store to be successful, I highly suggest you do one of two things:
1) Price your items by category (ie. dresses $5, ties $1, books 50¢, etc) so people know what to expect, or,
2) Charge actual thrift store prices at the counter instead of making moms like me don’t get home to found they just spent $20 on only 5 simple items of clothing they could have bought for NEW at clearance price anywhere.

DON’T BE GOODWILL.
Your stuff is given to you, for crying out loud.
Today, I dropped off three boxes of stuff worth $30 and ended up spending $26 on two small bags of stuff I needed. Ridiculous.

There's a lot of good items here. I've found lots of name brand things mixed in. Yes it is crowded in there but things are sorted by category so it isn't bad. I've been 3 times in the past month and I've left with a good amount of items each time. If you are willing to search it's worth it.

5+ year customer. NOT the shop it used to be...

I've been shopping here since it first open 5-6ish years ago (at least). In the first few months I was young and married I came here for house essentials. With some sifting I found what I needed and so much more! As I was checking out realized I left my wallet at home. The woman checking me told me to take my things and pay her back later. It meant so much to me as a young newly wed - I was SO thankful to be able to pay her back that afternoon. Such a huge blessing at a tough time in our lives. I have been a loyal shopper ever since and have recommended this shop to MANY people over the years. Taken several in myself!

It's more organized than it used to be but still takes time/patience to rummage for good finds. Things used to be fairly priced making the effort worth it. NOT anymore. Most expensive check-out I've had in years... I dug, climbed, squeezed through this shop for over an hour to piece together personal favorites. I have pieced together some beautiful treasures and proud to have built a home this way. Terribly disappointed when I was asked to pay so much more than I have ever before (at ANY thrift shop). I used to only pay for name brand (obviously collectible) things at a higher price (Ex: corningware dishes with matching lids) which made sense.

But I'm terribly disappointed this shop is no longer fairly priced. Especially when I invest time to search for and piece together sets I will need to repair, polish, and replace parts of when I get home.

I can buy similar goods at TJMAXX brand new, without needing repairs, in half the time, and for the same price. Why?
